United States Social Security Administration
The Administration manages benefit programs for persons with disabilities. Social Security Disability Insurance provides federal disability insurance benefits for workers who have contributed to social security trust funds and have become disabled or blind before reaching retirement age. In addition, Supplemental Security Income provides monthly income to low-income persons with limited resources on the basis of age and disability.
